Before you settle in

Forest living, thoughtfully simple.

Natural comfort

Mosquito nets, fresh air and cool spring-water showers. There is no air-conditioning or hot shower.

Solar & generator

Electricity comes from solar power and a generator, generally running until around midnight. Plan charging around availability.

Starlink Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is strongest in the main lodge. Our remote location can affect the connection.

Meals by the river

Our restaurant serves freshly prepared meals, including vegetarian and vegan options. Breakfast and other meals are charged separately.

Pack for the forest

Bring walking shoes, personal toiletries and a refillable water bottle. Filtered spring water is available.

A little more included

Your stay includes access to our private forest trails and one herbal spa session per booking, per day. National park treks are booked separately.

A warm herbal bath, a small riverside hut, and time to listen to the forest. Our herbal spa is a gentle way to unwind after your journey or a jungle trek.

Please arrange a time with our team so the herbs and water can be prepared. The hut accommodates one or two people at a time.

Getting here

The journey is part of your stay.

Follow the Bohorok River beyond Bukit Lawang village. A walk of around 30–40 minutes brings you to Back to Nature, tucked between the water and the forest.

There is no car access to our door. Our staff can meet you in the village and guide you to the lodge. Porters are available for heavy bags; tell us ahead if you need help or will arrive late.

A few things you may wonder.

Do I need a room during my overnight jungle trek?

You normally only need a room for the nights before and after your trek. Tell us your itinerary so we can arrange the right nights for you.

Can I leave my large backpack while trekking?

Yes, you can leave your main luggage at the lodge and take a smaller bag on the trek. Arrange this with our team before you set off.

Can families share a room?

The Forest Bungalow can accommodate up to five with extra mattresses, the Jungle Chalet up to four, and each camp tent up to three. Tell us the number of adults and the children’s ages so we can confirm the sleeping arrangement and total price.

How do I reserve a room?

Choose a room and tap Ask About This Room. Add your check-in and check-out dates, adults and children to the WhatsApp message. Our team will confirm availability, the total and any deposit needed to secure your stay.

How can I pay?

Cash and bank transfers are accepted; Wise is also an option. We do not accept credit cards onsite. Our team will provide payment details and confirm the deposit for your booking.

What is included in the room price?

A stay includes one herbal spa session per booking per day and access to our private forest trails. Breakfast, other meals, national park trekking, transfers and any extra mattresses are arranged separately.
